Catching the attention of our judging panel (and not for the first time), Tincknell Heating has been named Which? Trusted Trader of the Month for June 2020.
The company, which employs around 25 full-time employees, first joined the Which? Trusted Trader scheme back in November 2016. It serves customers across Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Avon and south Gloucestershire, dealing with boiler servicing, installation and repair.
After joining the Which? Trusted Trader scheme, Tincknell Heating won a Trader of the Month title in 2017 and then scooped Trader of the Year in 2018. This latest win is another sure sign that Tincknell Heating Services truly cares for its customers.
We spoke to installation manager Nick Turner on Tincknell Heating’s journey so far.

Providing a quality service
At the time of writing, Tincknell Heating is recommended by 100% of customers on its Which? Trusted Trader profile page. Customers are praising a professional service provided by ‘polite, friendly and efficient’ staff.
Nick Turner told us: ‘We’re the best at what we do. Our attention to customer service is paramount and our reviews reflect this. I’m proud of our very hard-working and loyal staff, most of whom have worked for the family for more than 10 years.’
‘Our reviews speak for themselves and in particular we get a great sense of achievement when helping our most vulnerable of customers.’
Dealing with difficult times
The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has obviously had a huge impact on how businesses deal with their customers, but the Tincknell Heating team is powering through.
Nick explains: ‘We’ve been working hard to stay committed to our customers while keeping our engineers as safe as possible. We haven’t had our full team of engineers working, but we have been doing everything we can for those customers in need that have had heating and hot water issues. This has involved implementing new health and safety processes, as well as social distancing.’
‘We are especially keen to support our NHS staff and are currently offering 50% off for any visits to NHS staff. We want to thank them for their fantastic work in these difficult times.’
Our judges were pleased to see a rainbow-coloured NHS flag flying above the Tincknell Heating office in Wells. One of them commented: ‘It’s really nice to see traders are doing their bit to help during the current climate.’
Tincknell Heating’s Which? Trusted Trader of the Month application also highlighted the team’s willingness to be flexible in unique circumstances. We read about a case where the company received a phone call the day before Good Friday and sent an engineer to solve a heating issue out of hours.

Customers know what Which? stands for
Nick told us: ‘The strict code of conduct that we follow during the installation and verification process, I believe, helps us stand out from other companies.’
‘The majority of customers have heard of Which? and know exactly what the brand stands for. Our Which? Trusted Trader logo is always featured in our advertising – replacing a boiler can be very costly at times and the logo is reassuring when considering a major purchase.’
The Which? Trusted Trader logo can do a world of good when it comes to drumming up new business. Tincknell Heating proudly displays the logo on its uniforms, vans, paperwork and advertising material. Nick told us that he considers joining the Which? Trusted Traders scheme as ‘one of the best decisions’ the company has ever made.
‘If you want to stand out from the rest, then choose the best. It can be a bit daunting initially as you’re going through the Trusted Trader assessment process, but it’s worth it in the end. You could go on to become a Which? Trusted Trader of the Month or even Trusted Trader of the Year!’
Congratulations to Tincknell Heating for winning June 2020’s Trusted Trader of the Month award.
