Transparency and honesty at the heart of the business

SD Roofing is a small family-run business providing most roof-related services – from flat, pitched or conservatory roof to guttering. The company aims to provide brilliant customer service at every turn.

The company is driven by transparency and honesty. One important aspect of this is offering free quotes to help assess the client’s needs But it also means suggesting temporary measures when a client’s budget doesn’t stretch far enough, so that clients are not left in the lurch. Or even ensuring that roof work is indeed needed as SD Roofing has come across customers who had been advised to get their roof replaced when no work was necessary.

Besides the quality of its work, this Tewkesbury company has customer service at the heart of everything it does, priding itself on replying to emails daily and ensuring that customers are regularly updated on the project’s timescales.

Currently, SD Roofing is helping customers to navigate these challenging times and with the cost of living going up, it’s actively taking steps to avoid costs from creeping up. Simon told us: ‘Building materials have nearly doubled in recent months and we’re trying our best to absorb as much of this as we can.’    

That’s why, having become a Trusted Trader since 2018, the company has already scooped two Trusted Trader awards – the first one back in March 2021.

The quality of SD Roofing work and its good reputation can be easily seen in its rave reviews. One customer said: ‘Very satisfied with two previous small jobs, so I employed Simon to extend the front porch.’ Whereas another highlighted: ‘The finished job is excellent and was all completed in one day. I can thoroughly recommend this company.’

The company has the logo on its uniforms, advertising boards and its van. It also has it on its email signatures, social media and all the paperwork it sends out to customers.

Simon says that being part of the Trusted Trader scheme allows customers to know they’re a reputable, hard-working company that does fantastic work, so it helps to set them aside from competitors and the rogue traders. It’s also a way to allow customers to leave reviews on the high standard of work they do.

This is displayed in all aspects of the business that ranges from logo usage and social media posts to making consumers fully aware about being part of the endorsement.’ 

Giving back to the community

Despite being a husband-and-wife business, SD Roofing is aware of every day’s challenges, especially for charities. The company supports Tewkesbury Athletic FC, which is a local football team that wouldn’t be able to continue without local business’ help.

And they are also happy to pitch in when help is needed. That was the case when the local Mitton Manor Pre-School put out a plea for help with its roof and SD Roofing was happy to come to the rescue.

Simon commented: ‘We’re pleased we can offer some help to others.'
