John Creasey came over within a day of me phoning him. As he was not able to come right away when I phoned him, he was happy to talk me through the issue and helped me get the heating started by moving the controls to manual. That kept us with heating and hot water until he came to change the part today. He was polite, knew what he needed to do and got the part replaced speedily. He came recommended by a local neighbourhood website. Would happily call him again if needed - though I hope I don't have to! Price was reasonable and he let me know that it was possible I could claim the money back from The HomeCare Policy that I have with a well known company who were not able to offer me an appointment until 11/2/2021 ! Thank you John !

I called John when my heating failed and British Gas, with whom I have a Home Care contract, said that they would not be able to come out to me for almost 2 weeks. John came later that day and identified what he thought to be the problem; he returned the following day and fitted a spare used part to test his theory. He left me with a working boiler and said that he would check in a few days to see if it had solved the problem (the boiler had been constantly shutting down). He texted me a few days later and I confirmed that there had been no further problem, so he ordered a new part to replace the used one and came to fit it as soon as he received it. I have cancelled my contract will British Gas and will be using John for future servicing and breakdowns. He was efficient, polite and friendly at all times.

John was able to come to our property and quote for the installation of a new boiler at relatively short notice. He gave us very good advice on the models and warranty extending accessories available and promptly sent us a detailed written quote. On acceptance we were delighted John could fit us in before Christmas, he is friendly, polite and very knowledgeable. He is discreet and a hard worker, leaving our property tidy at the end of every day. The new boiler has worked perfectly from day 1 and we are very pleased with the entire process and the high standard the work was completed to. We will use John' services again and have no hesitation in recommending him.

Our boiler had gone wrong in the middle of the coldest few days of winter so far. Latish in the evening I texted John, who I have employed before and found to be an excellent worker, and he phoned me back immediately. He then talked me through how to diagnose and temporarily fix the problem so that we had some heat. (No question of a charge for that). Despite being very busy, he then agreed (without me asking) to fit in a visit the next day. He arrived promptly and was his usual friendly, chatty and yet totally professional self. He very quickly diagnosed all of the faults (there were 3) and carried out the repairs. He also managed to fit in the annual service as this was due and it was better for both of us that he didn't have to return. John's knowledge of gas boilers is second to none, he is friendly, reliable and charges fair rates. I can thoroughly recommend him to anyone needing a gas engineer.

John installed a combi boiler for us last year and has just been back to service it, which reminded me to add a review. On both occasions he has been so helpful and friendly. His work is top quality, and his advice always based on what will work best and cost the least (this is a man who offers advice freely on a local social media group to save people calling out tradespeople unnecessarily for common boiler issues). His knowledge is extensive and rooted in safety. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. Also, our dog Basil thinks he’s great, and you can’t get a better recommendation than that!

I contacted John as a result of his feedback on Which? trusted traders. They were correct! Communication excellent followed by a fast and on time visit to service a boiler. Clearly an expert in his field which showed throughout. Very nice to find such an honest trader who charged a very fair and honest price. Also gave advice on a related matter and made an adjustment for no charge. Very recommended.

Central heating pump replacement

Our central heating pump had been making occasional ominous noises for some weeks and then stopped working entirely. This was not entirely surprising as it must have been around 30 years old. I contacted John Creasey based on the excellent reviews on Which? Trusted Traders and because he lived only a couple of miles from us. He said he might be able to get to us the following afternoon and sure enough he did. I had sent a picture of the pump and he arrived equipped with a suitable new replacement. He installed the pump without any problems as well as new isolation valves as the originals were notorious for failing. (I expected this as I had already read reports of this on the internet.) He was very helpful and as described in other reviews gave the immediate impression of "old school" reliability. So many reviews said his prices were reasonable that I trusted that he would charge a fair price. And he did. John really is a "trusted trader".

John Creasey repaired the left-hand oven of our 30-year old cooker. The flame control had failed. He sourced the part, and fitted it efficiently and pleasantly. He then tested everything to make sure it worked. We are very pleased to have the cooker working again.

My old boiler failed over the Xmas/New Year 2019/20. I contacted the manufacturer but as the boiler was over 20 years old they couldn't help me but pointed my towards my local and their preferred engineers. I contacted John Creasey who had the central heating back up and going before the New Year, I also had him quote me for a new smart boiler which I accepted. Then Corona virus stepped in and complicated matters especially with lockdown. As the old boiler was behaving itself John was quite happy to install the new boiler towards the end of the summer which has now been done. Arrived on the day we agreed, at the time we agreed, very easy to talk to and kept us informed as to what he was doing all the time and tidied up completely each evening. I was particularly impressed with his pipe work and the time he spent teaching us how to programme the boiler and setup my smart phone to control it remotely. Excellent service, more than competitive price, I couldn't have asked for anything more.

We have known Mr Creasey for over a year now, and he has been so helpful to us. Firstly, he gave a great deal of very helpful advice (free) about a boiler someone else installed; since then, he has serviced our boiler, and today has turned up as soon as he could, after we had a leak this morning. It is most reassuring to know that someone so competent, pleasant and friendly can be relied upon! And his prices are very reasonable too. Thank you John!
